8th National
Empowerment Conference

The 8th Annual National Empowerment Conference presented by Smart Communications brings together Filipino and Filipino American community leaders, advocates and innovators of all ages to assess the current status of the Filipino community.  We shall move forward to the 21st Century with more vigor and solid presence to ensure the growth and improvement of our communities in the decades to come.  With the new global economic changes, the future generation will be faced with more powerful challenges in America.  We are prepared.  Our leaders are dynamic and committed.

The Conference is expected to attract up to 1,000 Filipino community and business leaders, opinion shapers and prominent government officials from and throughout the nation.  The three-day event will focus on the development of key strategies to address the political, social, health, educational, and economic concerns affecting the Filipino American community.

This year’s conference features the following programs and activities for attendees (please note that our conference schedule has changed to accommodate the arrival of President Gloria Macapagl-Arroyo from the Republic of the Philippines):

• Over 30 Workshops and Seminars and three (3) Plenary Sessions

• Additional Networking and Roundtable Discussions

• Golf Tournament

• Tours and Sight Seeing

• Special Exhibits

• Hospitality Night presented by Western Union on Thursday, September 25th – featuring hors d’oeuvres and drinks

• Fellowship Night on Friday, September 26th – featuring a Talent Contest by NaFFAA Regions

• Gala Night on Saturday, September 27th – featuring Representative Jim McDermott as the keynote speaker, live entertainment, bands, dinner and awards presentation
